CFBSD is a non-profit organisation, incorporated in Canada under the Canadian Corporations Act. The organisation is governed by a Board of Directors, elected by the membership at the Annual Assembly. General policies are set by the Board and ratified by the Membership. The Executive Director, acting under authority delegated by the Board, is responsible for the all activities and operations of the organisation.

The CFBSD Board is composed of twelve Deans or Directors from Regular Business School Members institutions, representing a cross section of regions and types of schools in Canada. Board members serve a term of two years in their respective positions. The Board meets at least once each year.

Bahram Dadgostar became Chair of the Canadian Federation of Business School Deans in June 2011. He is the Dean at the Faculty of Business, Lakehead University.
